Department of HRD aims for cultivating professionals in human resource management and labor relations.
Development and Features
l. Department of HRD is the fist one set up in the Technological and Vocational Education (TVE ) System in Taiwan. The graduate program was established in 2004 and the in-service master's program was set up in 2005.
2.The design of curriculum combines Human Resource Management and Labor Relations Program in accordance with business needs.
3.Courses, featuring Practical Topics in Human Resource Management and Practical Lectures in Human Resource Management, emphasize the integration of theory and practice in order to improve students' competitiveness in job markets.
4.Human Resource Information System intensifies students' ability in integrating various human resource functions.
5.Knowledge Management System increases students' knowledge management ability and the knowledge sharing between teachers and students.
6.To introduce Assessment Center Techniques adn set up Southern Assessment Center.
7. To develop the industry' academy cooperation with professional institutions of human resource management to provide professional human resource services.
The curriculum design contains three main parts:
1.Fundamental Management Curriculum: including economics, statistics, accounting, production management, marketing, financial management, computer software and etc.
2.Human Resource Management Program: including courses that represent subfunctions of human resource management and courses corresponding to internationalization and industry needs such as HRM in Hi-Tech Industry, International HRM and HRM in Mainland China.
3.Labor Relations Program: including courses in relation to maintenance of labor rights and labor relations, such as Labor Law, Labor Welfare, Labor Relations, and Labor Dispute.
After graduation, the career choices for students are as follows:
1.Further Education :to get Ph.D. degree in relevant doctoral programs, such as business administration, human resource management, industrial relation, and labor studies.
2.Private Organizations: Department of Human Resource or Personnel.
3.Public Organization: Department of Personnel, Labor Administration, Employment Service.
4.Non'Profit Organization: Responsible for human resource development, training, and labor relations
5.Professional Consulting Firms and Job Banks: Responsible for human resource consulting services.
